The "Synchronized Light Blinker" project combines signal processing and relaying. The device play mp3s and cut the lights on and off according to the simulated beat of the song. A user will be able to insert a USB memory stick into a self contained device. The device will be able to read mp3 format files from the memory stick. The mp3 files will then be decoded in a chipset and its frequency and intensity will be filtered simultaneously. The audio signal will be output to a head phone jack, to be used on externally powered speakers. The filtered sequence is stepped up in voltage to trigger sets of normally closed relays. The relays will trigger lights or other components that plug into a set of outlets on the device.
