There is a need to be able to reboot or power up a system from a remote location in the event of a power outage or a system "locking up". There are means of performing reboots via remote connection software, but this technique is worthless in the events described above. We intend to build a device to allow rebooting or powering up of computer systems from a remote location by means of a telephone line. This device will "answer" a call after a certain number of rings set by the user. Once answered the user will enter a code to give him/her access to the RSR. Once access is granted, the user will use certain key presses to reboot or power up the computer. Once the sequence of "control" commands is complete, the system will hang up.
