According to West, "Not everything worth doing is worth doing well." There is no such thing as a perfect design. A time comes when a design is good enough (but not perfect) and you must move forward and push the product out the door. This lesson is one of the big steps in learning to be a successful engineer. Ironically, it is hardest to learn for the brightest and most technically sophisticated engineers. Perhaps because their technical virtuosity lets them see so many possibilities for improvement, they often have a hard time knowing when to stop improving a design.
