Although the soldering tutorial from Curcio Audio lists soldering equipment that is more expensive than that required for ECE 1002, the 8 rules (p. 2) provide a valuable check list for successful soldering and the graphhics (p. 3) show examples of both quality and defective solder joints. A wet paper towel is a workable substitute for the wet sponge mentioned in the tutorial.
