Team Charter
Objective
Design and implement an interface between a data communication product and personal data assistant through the built-in IR port on the personal data assistant. The interface will allow the monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting of the data communication product on the personal data assistant (PDA).
Scope
The project will be divided into three parts:
- PDA Software - Terminal emulation, file upload/dowload, Ethernet configuration
- Serial/IR adapter hardware
- Prototype hardware and software to emulate the operation of the communications product
Roles & Responsibilities (available on team webpage)
Key Activities
- Decide upon IR hardware and machine to use for prototype communications product.
- Determine user interface for PDA software
- Establishing PDA to prototype communications over infrared connection
- Develop the prototype software
- Develop the PDA software
Key Deliverables
- PDA Software
- IR/Serial adapter
- Prototype hardware and software
- Documentation on above
