Department Head
Applications and nominations are being sought for the position of Department Head and James Worth Bagley Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), which is administered through the Bagley College of Engineering. This is a 12-month tenure track position. The department has approximately 400 undergraduate and 150 graduate students and over 25 faculty members. ECE offers ABET/EAC accredited programs in Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CPE), as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs in each discipline. The CPE program is jointly administered with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The ECE faculty secure over $11 million in competitive and directed research funding annually and provides leadership in multidisciplinary research centers within the College and University.
Mississippi State University is a comprehensive land-grant institution with approximately 18,000 students and awards more than 3,000 degrees each year. The National Science Foundation currently ranks the department as 36th among the more than 300 U.S. ECE departments in external research expenditures. The university is located in Starkville, a vibrant community located in northeast Mississippi.

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. A scholarly record of peer-reviewed publications, external funding, and conference presentations is required. The new Head must have teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and must qualify for the rank of Professor. Professional registration is desired.
