ECE Student Advisory Council

ECESAC Council Members

The ECE Student Advisory Council (ECESAC) was formed in the Fall of 2004 by Department Head Dr. Jim Harden to advise upon matters of student opinion and to foster a sense of community among the ECE students and faculty. Since its formation, the ECESAC has provided feedback on administrative policies for enrollment, retention, and evaluation. To facilitate communication between students and faculty, the ECESAC has created and headed the bestowal of two awards; the Most Outstanding Undergraduate Professor award is awarded each Fall to an undergraduate educator and the Best Senior Design distinction is awarded each semester to a student team. In an effort to create departmental community, the ECESAC has organized numerous social events including Halo tournaments, poker and ice-cream parties, and the monthly "First Friday" dinner gathering.

The council is composed of a mixture of approximately 12 undergraduate and graduate students from varying backgrounds. Several new council members are chosen at the beginning of each semester to replace graduating members. New members are selected from a list of applicants by the Department Head working in conjunction with the current council. For pictures, current members, and membership application, see ECESAC.
