MSU ECE Students Wins First Place

Ms. Sarika Khushalani

Sarika Khushalani, doctoral student in MSU's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering won First Place in the Student Paper Contest held as part of the IEEE Power Engineering Society Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exhibition in May. Ms. Khushalani competed with other students from around the world by first writing a paper on her research and then presenting the results as a poster. As first place winner of the competition, she received a certificate and $500 check.

The title of Sarika's paper/poster was "Development of Three Phase Unbalanced Power Flow with Multiple Distributed Generators and the Study of Their Impact on Distribution System". Sarika's research is sponsored by the Office of Naval Research and her research advisor is Dr. Noel Schulz, Associate Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering and holder of the TVA Endowed Professorship in Power Systems Engineering.
