If you don't see the current version (modified 2/6/2012), please clear the caches of the internet browser before downloading. Also, prelab quiz is available now. Please don't forget to press 'save all' button before submission. If you don't see the quiz, change the option of 'Paging Preference' which is placed bottom right corner from 10 to 99. The due for the prelab is 2:30 PM on Wendesday. For lab 3, we will use a temporary UCF(user constraint file). Please download the Lab3_ucf file (zip format) when you download the lab manual and report. If you have any chance to have some time to work on Lab 3, we recommends you to follow instructions in lab manual to finish some of the works. Please let me know if you have any question. One error in the lab manual is corrected. In Lab manual part 2 and 3 (p. 13-14) , 3 2-input AND are supposed to be 2 2-input gates. In lab report, three simple questions are added to the problem 1. If you know what to change, that is OK. Or, please download them again. I am sorry for inconvenience. If you have a problem which shows * on the hardware specification besides chip shaped icon like the figure shown below, just double click the icon and change the hardware setup again. That will fix the implementation problem that would happen without the correct setup. In order to use the file, 1) download 'basys2_breadboard.bit' file from lab webpage or use one that you already have. If you downloads it from the lab web page, it needs to be extracted from the zip file. 2) open ADEPT software and find 'basys2_breadboard.bit' file on PROM mode slot. 3) change the Mode Jumper on the BASYS board(see the manual for detail). 4) program the file 5) turn off/on the board. You are ready to use breadboard now. This steps have to be done whenever breadboard work is involved because BASYS board does not provide the connection between switches and LEDs to external pins so we made the programming file for you. I hope this solves the confusion that some of you might have. If the file size is over than 2 MB, there are several ways to reduce the file size. 1) When you take a screenshot, change the size of the target window smaller. Change the picture resolution for your camera if possible. This will save a lot of size. 2) The report can be compressed more when changing the file format, doc to pdf. 3) You can divide the report into two different files and submit two time. Let TAs know about it. We can take care of them. Submitting reports via ECE server is the department policy and if you do not follow it, it is very difficult for TAs to grade your paper, and it will affect your grade too. If you haven't started to work on the bonus problem, then please download the new one. If you already done the homework, please keep in mind that LD[2] represent WIN signal and LD[1] LOSE and put a correct answer on the table in the homework. Another issue is about the UCF. I assume that everybody understand that UCF is related to BASYS board. If you generate several different programming file (.bit), i.e., card_check and card_check_top, then you need to add UCF on each program. The figure below shows two UCF are added to the project. If you don't have a problem testing the keyboard, then please ignore this. I have found and fixed by adding UCF twice. Please let me know if you have any question. Print the form, complete it using your student ID by following instruction in accompanied PDF file, and bring it to the class tomorrow.* Please don't forget your netID and student ID(9 digit number) in the worksheet. We will grade prelabs and give you back during before the lab. As mentioned in class, SOP form is a necessary part and POS form is an option. For bonus points, you should complete SOP and POS form, and cost function for both forms should properly be analyzed in the lab report. Bonus points will be added to the lab report grade, not prelab grade. I do not have office hour today in Simral, but I can answer your questions through the email. I am sorry if you planned to visit.
