You may go to lab if you would like help from the TA. He will be there for both sessions. There will not be a new lab assigned and last week's lab is not due until next week. Also, the check off for last week's lab will be during the Wednesday lab session of next week (because of Fall Break)? Please assume that button presses last 1 clock cycle, not longer. In my simulations, I assert a button for 1 clock cycle, then deassert with no buttons pressed for a cycle, then move to the next button. There is no need for an extra paddle for extra credit. Just one. Thanks, Tommy Morris, PhD Assistant Professor Electrical and Computer Engineering Mississippi State University 233 Simrall Hall - (662)325-3199 From: jab647@gmail.com [mailto:jab647@gmail.com] On Behalf Of Jacob Bowen Sent: Tuesday, October 19, 2010 4:46 PM To: Tommy Morris Subject: Lab 6 Extra Credit Dr. Morris, I have a quick question about the extra credit section in lab 6. The lab manual does not seem to mention the requirement of adding a second paddle for extra credit, but the extra credit section on the lab check-off sheet does imply that there should be a second paddle. Specifically, requirement 3 in the extra credit section of the check-off sheet states "Ball responds to both paddles correctly." Should I just ignore the extra paddle requirement or do the students need to have two functioning paddles to get the extra credit? In place of lecture I have added 2 videos to mycourses.msstate.edu. You can find these by logging into mycourses and navigating to the "Course Content" section. #1 - spaceinvadersram This video is about creating a RAM for the space invaders circuit using the Xilinx Core Generator tool. This same technique can be used to create a RAM for upcoming labs and the class project. #2 - dsdlecture_pipeliningintro This video introduces the concept of pipelining. These videos will be treated as normal lecture material and all content from these videos may appear on exams.
