Our team consists of one undergraduate student, one
graduate student, one HSE thrust leader, and two professors, all
involved in promotion as well as research and implementation. This
team has worked hard on this project since the fall of 2004 and
have been very thorough in there approach. These members keep
Mississippi State University on the up and up when it comes to
technology and development in the automotive field.

Ron Lewis
Research Associate
Ron Lewis, a CAVS research associate, has
developed the Web application and software infrastructure.

Will Jenkins
Graduate Research Assistant
Will Jenkins is a graduate student majoring in
electrical and computer engineering. His research interests
include embedded design and wireless communication. He is the
lead hardware and software engineer for the embedded system.

Austin Walton
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Austin Walton is an undergraduate student
majoring in computer engineering. His technical interests
include data mining, web based applications, and digital
system design. Austin is also a member of Theta Tau
Professional Engineering Fraternity. Austin works on the
Java Applet development.

Research Associate
Brock is a Research Associate specializing
in software development. He is the lead engineer for the
software components of the system.

Ben is an undergraduate student majoring in
Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Joe Picone
Co-Principal Investigator
Dr. Picone's areas of research expertise include
automatic speech recognition, signal processing, and spoken
language dialog. He has over 25 years of experience in speech
recognition research and has led the development and
distribution of one of the world's leading recognition systems,
participating in state of the art evaluations of such
technology. Dr. Picone has directed the design and development
of the system software. He has also supervised the design and
development of the BullyBus web server.

Dr. Georgios Lazarou
Principal Investigator
Dr. Lazarou's areas of research expertise
include mobile and wireless ad hoc networks for intelligent
transportation systems (ITS), next generation smart networking
technology, energy efficient protocols for wireless sensor
networks, next generation Internet protocol design, and
performance analysis and simulations of communication
protocols. Dr Lazarou has directed
the design and development of the communications system
components.

Zach Rowland
Co-Principal Investigator
Zach Rowland is the Thrust Leader for Human and
Systems Engineering in the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems
at Mississippi State University. He is expert in electronic
technologies and embedded processing for automotive
diagnostics. Mr. Rowland has directed the design and development
of the system hardware.

Rita Jackson
GRI Associate
Rita Jackson is an Extension Associate II specializing in
Cartography. She is the contact person for the GIS Mapping
Service at Mississippi State. GeoResources Institute.
Ms Jackson has directed the GIS design and compilation of the
roads and routes for this project.

Dr. Julie Baca
Dr. Baca's research interests include
human-computer interaction, spoken language dialog, and universal
access. She has over a decade of experience designing and testing
accessible user interfaces for graphical, spoken language, and
multimodal applications. Dr. Baca has supervised the design and
development of the system software. She has also supervised all
other user interface design, usability, and
human subject testing issues related to the project.
