Registration
|
The non-refundable registration fee of $25 includes a commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt, a finish line medal (for the first 200 who complete the full half-marathon), post-race snacks, and the
post-race party. There will be NO race day registration. A discount will be given to those who register online at active.com , or you may mail your entry (full price), payable to WELLNESS CONNECTION along with guest post-race fees to P.O. Box 1506, Starkville, MS 39760-1506.
New this year: There will be teams of two only with each person running 6.55 miles a piece. The first runner of each team can run the whole 13.1 if they wish but we will only have teams of two.

The Course
The 13.1-mile course begins with the famous bus ride to the starting pointin Pheba. The buses will leave from the Oktibbeha County HealthPlex parking lot (map) promptly at noon. The point-to-point course with rolling hills runs south on Hwy 389 with a turn west onto Hospital Road for the last one-half mile. The finish line will close after 2 hours, 45 minutes.

Weather
Be prepared! It is always unpredictable. The average temperature in February is 41 degrees.

Course Support
The race is supported by a huge cast of great volunteers and law enforcement divisions including the Oktibbeha
County Sheriff's Department, The Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the Oktibbeha County Law Enforcement Explorers Post
76. Please note that the course is not closed to through traffic. Therefore, in
the interest of safety, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades/skates, strollers, baby-joggers, the wearing of head-phones,
and running with animals are prohibited. Split times will be called at regular intervals. It is recommended that no one under the age of 12 participate in the full half-marathon.
Water Station Competition
Water and sports drinks will be available at miles 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. At the completion of the race, runners will
vote on the "best" station, and a donation which is underwritten by WEAVEXX will be made to a charity
designated by that station.

Awards
Commemorative finish line medals will be given to the first 200 runners who complete the full half-marathon! Awards will be given to the overall male/female, master male/female, grandmaster male/female, relay team, wheelchair,
and the top three male/female finishers under 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, female 50-59, 60+,
male 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Post-Race Party
Fruit, beverages, whirlpool, and showers will be available at the finish line at the HealthPlex. At 3:30 p.m. the
buffet line at Rick's Cafe Americain will open with free food and beverages for the runners courtesy of Rick's, Stromboli's, and
Old Venice. Your guests must purchase tickets (see entry form) to be admitted to the festivities
which will include awards and video of the race. The awards ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. (See the map for directions to Rick's)
Host Hotel
Holiday Inn Express is the host hotel for this year's Frostbite Half-Marathon. Holiday Inn Express will offer a special rate of $69 for runners who call 662/324-0076 and mention the Frostbite Half-Marathon.
