Welcome to the 3rd SSCET, 2012

Due to Hurricane Isaac, the 2012 SSCET has been rescheduled to the end of October. If you had previously registered for the SSCET, your registration will be valid for the new date.

Welcome! The New Orleans Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), and the College of Engineering of The University of New Orleans proudly offer and welcome you to the 2012 Southeast Symposium on Contemporary Engineering Topics. We are honored to host the symposium at The UNO Research & Technology Park and to facilitate the offerings of forty contemporary topics in four parallel tracks; Power Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and engineering student presentations. Participants shall be exposed to both academic and industry view points and shall receive up to 6 Professional Development Hours (PDH).  In addition to technical exchange, we encourage you to use the forum for networking and to knowing leaders in the fields of power systems, communication, and electrical and computer technologies.

SSCET Mission statement

The Southeast Symposium on Contemporary Topics provides a forum for universities and industry in the Southeast area to discuss contemporary engineering topics being researched by the academic community and being worked on by the industry as well as interact to improve the approaches taken to resolve these issues and develop better relationships to improve collaboration on future issues which improve the capabilities for work and results on resolving these contemporary topics in the Southeast.
