Welcome to the Cadence Users Group information page for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University.  Classes utilizing Cadence products are described below.

ECE 3434 Advanced Electronics

  • Three hours lecture. Three hours laboratory.
  • Feedback and stability. Operational-amplifier and data-converter circuits Introduction to CMOS logic circuits. Filters and tuned amplifiers. Signal generator circuits. Power amplifiers.

ECE 4512/4522/4532/4542 EE/CPE Senior Design I and II

  • One hour lecture. Three hours laboratory.
  • Legal aspects and standards relating to design, professional ethics and other design skills. Prototyping, documentation, and oral presentation of a team-based design project.

( Cadence Software used: Virtuoso, Composer, Diva, Dracula, Silicon Ensemble)

ECE 4263/6263 Principles of VLSI Design

  • Course consists of three, one hour lectures and one, three hour laboratory.
  • This course offers a study of MOS device principles, basic CMOS circuits, CMOS processing and technologies, and circuit performance characterization techniques. In addition, the student will have the opportunity to create layouts for basic CMOS elements and discuss some of the optimization techniques used for creating better designs. A design project is required of the students to demonstrate the principles learned during the course.
