What is your favorite part about being a mentor for MSU’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering?
Being a mentor is a great deed for me because I have the opportunity to pass on the knowledge, education, and resources I got and learned to incoming freshmen and transfers. The assignments and projects that come with the ECE 1013 and 1022 labs are very interesting to me. Some of my favorite ones are through-hole and SMT soldering, mentor bio, and the Foundations in ECE 2 class project.

What makes Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State a good choice for potential students?
The ECE program at MSU provides students with a significant amount of educational and professional opportunities. Getting close to the completion of the ECE program, I can say that the program has indeed, to a great extent, set me up for my future. The ECE department is made up of resourceful individuals who work to get the best for ECE students.

What ECE class has been your favorite class and why?
Fundamentals of Energy Systems (ECE 3614) was my favorite class. Two of my interests in electrical engineering are power and energy, and this was the class that got me excited about EE and gave me a strong educational foundation on power and energy. Ultimately, I was intrigued by the class.

What is your favorite part about being an ECE major?
My favorite part about being an ECE major is knowing the extent of benefits that ECE brings to our daily lives. ECE is all around us, and as an ECE major and future expert, I am growing my knowledge and ability to crucially contribute to society educationally and professionally.

What are some activities or experiences that you have had as part of your major?
In addition to undergraduate research and being a mentor, I have experience working as an Electrical Engineering Intern, Field Crew Leader, Fuel Operator, and Equipment Operator in hydraulic fracturing, refinery, energy, and nuclear. Some of the companies I have had the opportunity to work for are Entergy Nuclear, Burns & McDonnell (Oil, Gas, & Chemical), Rolfson Oil, and West Texas Builders. In 2022, I was named a Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association (MAMA) Scholarship Recipient.
