New Patent Awarded to ECE Team

June 9, 2025

Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Seungdeog Choi and ECE graduate student Ashik Amin were recently awarded a U.S. patent for their latest work.

The novel topology identifies the worst-case converter network architecture in floating onboard power electronics applications. Additionally, a scheme has been proposed to initiate destructive superposition to reduce the conducted common mode Electromagnetic Interference (CM EMI) without additional compensating networks.

The proposed methodology immunes the power converter network from common mode noise enhancing robustness between low and high voltage bus architecture of onboard power electronics application.
