The High Voltage Laboratory offers undergraduate and graduate courses, seminars for students and faculty, and short courses for engineers, as well as graduate assistantships for high voltage research, and support for undergraduate research in the laboratory.
Undergraduate/graduate (4000/6000) courses:
- Fundamentals of High Voltage Engineering
- Insulation Coordination in Electric Power Systems
Advanced graduate (8000) courses:
- Advanced High Voltage Engineering
- Directed Individual Study (DIS, ECE7000)
Past courses:
- HVDC Power Transmission Systems (6000)
- High Voltage Measurement Techniques (8000)
- Theory of Dielectrics (8000)
- Overvoltage and Surge Protection in Electric Power Systems (8000)
All of the courses include experiments performed in the high voltage laboratory. The High Voltage Laboratory frequently invites leading researchers to present seminars on state-of-the-art high voltage research. Mississippi State University is also often invited to showcase ongoing high voltage research projects to universities as well as the industry.
